Our Story
In 2015, ConnectIn Groups became the first training center in the oasis of Siwa. It is a personal initiative by Yuridia Montoya, that for several years focused on supporting youngsters and adults with internationally recognized English and computer courses. Over time the team grew and our focus shifted to the most vulnerable groups in society: women and children.
In 2018, we achieved a new milestone and started our new program “Five Stars Kindergarten”. Ten local girls and women are continuously trained in new teaching methods, offering education to over 90 children from three to six years old.
ConnectIn Groups is registered in the Netherlands as ANBI Foundation under RSIN number 8586.21.198 / KVK number (chamber of commerce) 71203109.

We believe that the support and empowerment of women will contribute to a better community. Everyone deserves a chance to develop their full potential and our mission is to support this journey.
In our new program “Women for Women“, the main objective is to empower Siwa’s women by building their skills and capacities on the fields of education -as quality kindergarten teachers-, and heritage revitalization -as skilled artisans. By providing employment on these fields, women will have the possibility to make their own sustainable income.
We work in Siwa Oasis
The oasis of Siwa is located near Libya, at the border of the Sahara desert. With 40.000 inhabitants, it is the only place in Egypt in which the Berber (Amazigh) culture still prevails. Its isolation has made it one of the most traditional societies not only of Egypt, but of the entire Middle East.
Its unique culture, interesting history and extraordinary landscapes attracts people from all over the world. Recently, cheap land prices are offering new opportunities for desert farming and the newly discovered salt mines, have opened up new doors on the international markets.
Our local partner
Tiltawein Siwa, in the Siwan language meaning ‘Women of Siwa’, is Siwa’s first all-women’s organization. Members are women, whom have been working on different fields and are committed to help their communities. Our mutual goals and interests has led to a partnership and close cooperation. Registered under the Ministry of Solidarity, number 2207037.
Five Stars Kindergarten, is the first Montessori-oriented pre-school program in the oasis of Siwa. It is now coordinated by Siwan women, and offers daily education to young children. Sharing mutual goals and interests led to a partnership, educating children but also providing work opportunities for local women.
